I would only add a lesser perspective, that being Independence Day as a celebration of the principle of individual freedom (read as 'independence') enshrined in the Declaration that was further realized in the Constitution. In other words, I am not only planning to celebrate my country's independence tomorrow, but my own, as gifted to me by right of citizenship of the United States of America. Well stated, Alan.
