The American Idolatry post addressed those who believe that Adam Lambert’s loss to Kris Allen on American Idol was due to viewer bigotry and rejected it.

New polls every day suggest that Americans’ attitudes toward their gay neighbors are less hostile.  During a post-victory press tour, Kris Allen discussed this with Access Hollywood host Billy Bush.  In this interview (seen here) Kris addresses the question and puts it in a proper and positive perspective.

Hopefully this will give some measure of comfort to those fans of Adam Lambert that claim conservatives were motivated by bigotry to make Kris the new American Idol.

Finally, there was some news made in this interview when Bush revealed that the margin between the two finalists wasn’t close.  If true, it’s hard to make the claim that the vast majority of those 100 million voters were motivated by hate.

This country is more accepting than that.
